Patient history:

  • 45 year old male
  • History of Crohn’s Disease
  • Permanent Ileostomy since 1991

Nurse review:

a stoma

  • Stoma size varies between 25 – 28mm, profile varies from flush to protruding up to 6mm
  • Abdomen is flat
  • Hyper granulation
  • Pouch weartime is 2 days

Problems:

  • Output is very liquid and the pouch needs to be emptied 8 – 10 times/day
  • Also experiencing burning skin
